Myopia control

Slow down the progression of myopia (shortsightedness)

It has been long recognised that genetics and envoriment play a role in myopia.  Until recently, there has been no significantly proven way of reducing the progression.  Now there is a greater understanding of the mechanism of myopia. This research has lead to available options to assist with the slowing down of myopia progression.  This is ideal for children who have parents with very high prescirptions.

We provide options in the form of;

Soft contact lenses

Spectacle lenses

Orthokeratology (Ortho-K)

Orthokeratology (Ortho-K)

Ortho-K used individually custom designed contact lenses worn during sleep. They reversibly reshape the cornea (front of the eye) to correct myopia, so no visual correction is required during the day.  This is currently the best option for myopia control. Studies show a 50% slowing in the progression of myopia.
